CoachArt organizes cultural, educational and recreational activities in the greater Los Angeles community for chronically ill children and their families. Community events are offered throughout the year and include family guided museum tours, athletic events, dance performances, and adaptive recreation programs. CoachArt’s community events provide students with unique, educational and challenging activities that they might not otherwise have the opportunity to participate in. Often occurring over one day or afternoon, community events provide a fun experience for families that cannot commit to an ongoing schedule of weekly lessons. These special events provide students with a new sense of self-confidence as they learn teamwork, dedication, and how to overcome their fears. In 2008, CoachArt hosted 1,247 children to participate in various community events.
